Choose Crystal if
- Developers running Claude Code and Codex side by side across isolated Git worktrees
- Teams that want to inspect, approve, reject, or edit agent changes before applying them
- Local-first workflows using standard filesystem formats and optional bring-your-own API keys or local LM Studio models when compatible with the task model workflow.
Stay with Cursor if
- You require agent workflows through CLI, web, GitHub, or Slack; equivalent Nimbalyst coverage is not documented
- You rely on Cursor-style code autocomplete; Nimbalyst documents Monaco editing and targeted AI edits, but not autocomplete
- You cannot accept migration onto a successor product, because Crystal itself is deprecated
