What it does
Crowi is a Markdown wiki designed for team knowledge sharing. Its URL-based page hierarchy organizes content into paths such as `/team/handbook/onboarding`, while the web frontend supports wiki access and real-time collaborative editing through Yjs and Hocuspocus.
The product includes pluggable storage and search backends, including local filesystem storage, S3, MongoDB-native search, Elasticsearch, and OpenSearch. It also documents OAuth 2.0, personal access tokens, an embedded MCP server, KaTeX and PlantUML renderers, and an end-user CLI for reading, writing, and searching through the HTTP API.
Crowi is deployable under user control. The repository documents local development with Node.js, pnpm, MongoDB, and Redis, and provides published Docker images plus Docker Compose, deployment, and self-hosting guidance. The current v2 release line is an active prerelease.
