What it does
Eclaire is a local-first, open-source AI workspace that unifies notes, documents, photos, bookmarks, and tasks. Users can save web content, create plain-text or Markdown notes, organize assets with tags and flags, search and analyze documents and images, perform OCR, and ask an assistant to summarize or retrieve information across their data.
The product provides a Vite-based web application with mobile and PWA access, Telegram integration, REST APIs, and local model support through systems such as llama.cpp, MLX, LM Studio, and Ollama. It is designed for self-hosting: the documented setup uses Docker Compose, SQLite or PostgreSQL, local storage, and locally run AI models; a command-line onboarding and administration flow is also available.
