Memex

Memex is an open-source, local-first journaling and personal knowledge-management app for iOS and Android. Users capture text, photos, voice, shared files, and other fragments; the app uses multi-agent workflows to turn records into timeline cards, structured knowledge, tasks, events, media references, and insight cards. It supports automatic tagging, entity extraction, cross-references, conversational card discussions, P.A.R.A. organization, charts, narratives, maps, timelines, and galleries.

Data is stored locally using the filesystem and SQLite, with app lock, device or iCloud Drive storage, backup and restore, and Markdown export. AI features require a configured provider or optional Memex AI service, with support documented for providers including OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, and Ollama. The product is distributed for iOS and Android and can be built from source with Flutter.
