Rote

Rote is a personal note repository focused on restrained note-taking and recording workflows. It supports Markdown articles that can be referenced by notes, open API access for recording or retrieving data, data export, and optional AI chat over notes and articles with semantic search, related notes, streamed responses, and source references.

The project is available as an independent MIT-licensed product with a graphical web interface, an iOS client, and a documented self-hosted deployment model. Users can run it with Docker Compose or deploy it through Dokploy, configure an administrator account, and optionally enable AI providers, vector storage, and automatic indexing.
