What it does

TagSpaces is an open-source, offline-first application for organizing, tagging, and managing local files on Windows, Linux, and macOS. It provides file and folder browsing, filename or sidecar tagging, fuzzy search by names or tags, and note creation in TXT, Markdown, or HTML formats. A browser extension can save web pages and screenshots as local files.

The application also includes an HTML-editor-based to-do workflow, media playback for common audio and video formats, and extension modules for additional viewers and editors. It runs without cloud services and includes a locally running web service for search-index creation and image thumbnails. The repository documents Electron desktop builds, a local web version, mobile builds through Capacitor, and Docker setup files.
