What it does
Valour is an open-source community platform organized around “planets,” which provide real-time chat channels, Reddit-style persistent thread feeds, publishable wikis, voice channels, roles, per-channel permissions, and community economies. Its web client is also available as Windows and Android apps, with features including multi-chat windows, themes, bots, webhooks, automoderation, and a Discord importer.
The platform documents self-hosted deployment with Docker Compose using PostgreSQL, Redis, local or S3-compatible media storage, and Caddy for HTTPS. Operators can run community nodes and optionally use federation to move planets between official infrastructure and independently operated servers. Voice can use managed infrastructure or a self-hosted LiveKit server.
